Then using these Gelli-prints, carve designs into linoleum blocks, roll on black ink and press the blocks onto the Gelli-prints. About the Instructors:
Amy Beidleman is a local artist. Painting watercolor for more than just a hobby was always a dream of Amy’s until a few years ago when a friend saw her work and offered to sell prints as cards in her Aspen store. That was in 2010, now Amy has her cards in numerous shops in Colorado and Wisconsin. She also teaches art classes, sells her paintings and prints and has done commissioned work for businesses and individuals. She continues to do art shows in Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond, and is also a water media curator for the Aspen Chapel Gallery. For over 20 years, Amy was CFO of a couple local banks which gave her a strong financial background to start her own business. She is mostly self-taught, studying with some well-known artists, such as Alvaro Castagnet, Thomas Schaller, Ted Nuttal, Andy Evansen and local Sarah Peterson. Amy has lived and worked in Aspen, Colorado since 1978. She is married to Neal and they have two children, Finn and Reed. Amy supports a number of non-profit organizations through the creation of artwork and donations of cards.
Rebecca Weiss is a Naturalist specializing in birding, botany, and interpretive program development. She came to ACES as a Summer Naturalist in 1993, and later directed the Naturalist Field School and worked with ACES’ Naturalist Programs. She guides for ACES’ Birding Program outings and is a professional writer and consultant. Rebecca is the author of Birds of Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley. She holds a BS in Biology and a MA in Environmental Education, and loves exploring the natural world.
