2021 After School Art

After school art classes will resume in October 2021 in our new classroom space at 174 Midland Ave. Masks will be required for all students and teachers. All staff and teachers at the Art Base are vaccinated.

Explore, express, create! These classes are designed to be FUN, nurture creativity, and help prepare students for a future of successful problem solving and critical thinking. Using imagination and original ideas, students will be encouraged to explore new art materials and techniques and visually express themselves.

When registering your child or children, please note that there are limited spaces available for these free opportunities. In order to be able to share this opportunity with the entire community, please register for only one day of after-school art classes each month

Inspired by the works of Vincent Van Gogh and David Hockney, paint your very own whimsical, colorful landscape masterpiece! Vincent Van Gogh is one of the most influential artists in Western Art History and is known for using specific markings and bold colors to create beautiful landscapes and nature paintings. David Hockney is 1960’s English artist, who shared a love of nature with Van Gogh, took on his style and created his own modern funky, bold, colorful landscapes. Students will build up their creative skillset with drawings, watercolors, and then a big, bold acrylic painting on canvas.
